Sudoku and crosswords are renowned to keep you mentally fit. But there is a new kid on the block. Scientists have developed Lumosity, a brain training program that does not feel like work. This app is recommended for both educators and learners for cognitive training exercises.

Take an engaging Fit Test to determine how well you currently perform with memory, speed, attention, flexibility and problem-solving quizzes. The Fit Test will let you see how you compare within your age group. To get the full benefit of a tailor-made program based on your Fit Test, you will need to pay a subscription fee. There are over 50 games that, in addition to the skills mentioned above can also improve critical thinking, math’s and vocabulary. But you can still enjoy challenging yourself and improving on your performance with 3 free daily quizzes that keep your mind active, without the subscription. Studies done with Lumosity found that “statistically significant improvements on subtests of working memory, arithmetic reasoning, and processing speed” were acquired.
